News from the International Church of Christ
The church plantings in India have grown incredibly, and their goals are impressive for 2009.  Still, persecution has been intense in some places, with disciples going to jail, and services being targeted.  Listen as Dinesh George tells the story...

Austin being baptized    I started to go to church when i was 12 years old (approx). My family comes from a Buddhism background. My mum was a Buddhist herself until she started going to church after being invited by my uncle, Henry. That is how my mum started to get to know God. There were lots of challenges when my mum took a stand to be committed to church every Sunday, including persecution from family members.
I was naïve at that time and I remember I begged my mum to give up going church as her Christianity was threatening my parents’ marriage. There was much quarreling. My mum, sister and I were devastated. It was very hard for my sister and I at that point in time. My mum prayed very hard during that period of time. God answers prayers - my dad started to change and allowed my mum to go to church.
John Louis reports on Indonesia and Malaysia, where churches are growing, new churches are being planted, and hundreds of people are studying the Bible.  All this in a part of the world where most do not even own a Bible.

After multiple hurricanes, the Gulf Coast is still reeling. But where there are people willing to help, there is hope. Already, homes have been rebuilt and a brighter future emerges.

From November 7-9, eighty volunteers from the Mission Point Christian Church, the Austin International Church of Christ, the Greater Houston Church and the New Orleans Church came together and were able to serve the residents and communities of Galveston Island.

The show started of with a video followed by a children's choir. The 24th December, 2008 was a night to remember for the KL Church. It was the night of the biggest fun-raising event ever for HOPE worldwide KL, Malaysia. With a membership of only 340 people, the church attempted to fill a hall that seats 5300 in just 6 weeks. Our goal was to raise enough money to set up a building fund for our Center of HOPE by organizing a concert featuring a world-class key act, The New York Harlem Singers (NYHS). There were also many talented local artistes lined up along with them, a soprano, a tenor, children choir and a percussion unit. With barely 3 months to prepare for the concert, I have nothing but praise for our brothers and sisters who put up a herculean effort to make the concert a success.

Bible 90 daysDave SimmonsAs the new year is quickly approaching, we often search for ways to renew and reconnect spiritually - possibly reading the Bible in a year.

2008 was great in San Antonio.  Our attendance went over 500, and we baptized & restored 39 folks, growing by 7%.  We were also very involved helping the poor both in Texas and in Africa.  Sit back and enjoy our video.  You'll love the Spanish guitar...

Our current revival is not limited to our campuses or smaller churches.  Even our larger churches are seeing a time of revival.  Chicago, like Los Angeles and Boston, is no exception.  AT and Marci Arneson give us the details...

2008 A Walk to Remember                                 By Duncan Comrie

The year has truly been a walk to remember. God has given us some amazing victories despite some tough dark times. As we look back over the year we see His footprints that show us that he has and is always with us. He has allowed us to mature and grow.

Greetings

The Campus Ministers' Winter conference is coming up, and we wanted to remind and inform everyone about what is going on.  This is a time when the campus ministers from around the US can come together for fellowship and fun.  It will be an amazing opportunity to forge new relationships, strengthen old ones, and exchange some great ideas for building up our local ministries.  We will have some great lessons from campus ministers all over the country and some Q&A times, as well as plenty of free time to fellowship and experience some of the amazing of the Boulder area.
